A person dependent approaah to to promoting safe and effective nursing care , focuses on the individuals personal needs, wants, desires,and goals so that they become central to the care and nursing process. This can mean putting the person's needs as they define them , above those identified as priorities by health care professionals.

There are a number of different frameworks that have been developed by nurse academics to help practicing nurses implement person centred care. While these frame works that have been developed are all slightly different , some components are :

Knowing the patient as an individual being responsive. Providing care that is meaningful respecting the individuals values, preferences and needs. Fostering trusting care giving relationships. Involving individuals family and friends , as appropriate.

In order to achieve care that is person centred , nurses need to understand the biographies of their patients and their relatives. Paying attention to the life stories and experiences of patients is the only way nurses will get to know their patients and their aspirations for the future.

To achieve this nurses need the right level of knowledge, skill and experience, skills and experience. A person dependent approach to nursing focuses on the individuals personal needs, wants , desires ....knowing the patient as an individual being responsive , providing care that is meaningful.

The advantages of transforming the process dependent approach is that in nursing patient assessment is an important component of any nurses role. It allows patient care to be prioritized in an important manner and it forms the basis of nursing care plans both of which impact on patient outcomes.

More over enhancing privacy and security of patient data . Helping providers improve productivity and work life balance . Enabling providers to meet their goals . Therefore a professional nurse plays a vital role in the quality improvement of health of person dependent approach or process dependent care services.
