Culture assessment and culturally oriented care enables nurse to identify ways with which the clients culture and its features impact on their perceptions ,beliefs, values, experiences with health,wellness ,illness,suffering, and even death.Culture influences not only health practice but also how the healthcare provider and patient perceive illness.

Cultural competence is the ability of providers and organizations to effectively deliver health care services that meet the social ,cultural and linguistic needs of patients.
