C represent primary spermatocyte which will enter meiosis 1. It is formed from the spermatogonium by mitosis. It will result in the formation of two haploid cells.

D represent secondary spermatocyte formed by the meiosis of primary spermatocyte.

Secondary spermatocyte enter meiosis 2. It will result in the formation of 4 haploid spermatid which will mature to form sperm.
