if two variablws are absolutely independent to each other then from sample, observed frequencies are nearly to the expected frequencies bot exactly the same because u have sample not population.

and value of chi_sq is very low such that lower than the critical value such that we fail to reject null hypothesis that the the two variables are independent

in contex of p value , the p-value is also nearly close to 1 that implies fail to rejection of null hypothesis.
