Answer #1

Answer-

Endosperm is a tissue present inside the seeds of most angiosperms. It is generally triploid (3n) which is a result of fertilization of two polar nuclei of cells of embroyonic sac by one sperm nucleus. It acts as food storage for the seed during germination. Developing embryo gets nutrients from endosperm. It helps in transfer of nutrients from mother plant to the embryo. It also contains hormone such as cytokinin which regulate cellular differentiation and embryonic organ formation. In some cases, endosperm also helps in seed dormancy which helps annual plants encounter the effects of year-to year variation in the environment.
