Four businesses in a global organisation of my choice Samsung are consumer electronics, construction, financial services and medical equipments. The process of globalisation impacted its strategy as it identified opportunities in these sectors and formed partnership on global level. Based on consumer demand and the resources developed by the company the business expansion happened as a result of globalisation. The electronics and telecommunication business was consolidated and invested considering the global demand for products with research and development to provide innovative products in competition to international brands.

The advantages of setting up business abroad is that it can help the company leverage the advantages of the foreign location like availability of skills and technology, resources and raw materials, skilled and economic labour and diversification. The disadvantages are that global business operations are beneficial only on ecomomies of scale, it needs considerable investment of resources for profitability and expected outcomes which has lot of risk involved in the business. The business needs to shift focus across different sectors and regions. With globalisation there are challenges like going local or standardisation of products and services. It may require considerable time and still prove incompatible with local choices and systems.

An upcoming international business of my choice is Alibaba. The company has used strategies to impact its financial earnings and create robust cash flows. The company has integrated its global business and developed technology platforms for smooth functioning of its business across different regions and sectors. The company is consumer focused and constantly introduces necessary changes as per the market and Industry trends to compete globally and positively impact its financial earnings and robust cash flows.
