According to Charles law , the volume and temperature of fixed amount of gas are directly proportional at constant pressure.

When applying Charles law , the gas temperature must be expressed in Kelvin units.

Unlike solids and liquids, the attractive forces between gas particles are essentially non-existant

Q3). According to Charles law: V1/T1 = V2/T2 where V1 and V2 are volumes and T1 and T2 are temperatures in Kelvin units.

In this problem, V1 = 4.5 L, T1 = 25+273=298 K and T2 = 273+38 = 311 K

Hence, V2/311 = 4.5/298

V2 = 311 x 4.5/298 = 4.7 L
