Answer is (c) none of the above.

MAC curve shows the marginal costs that are incurred from reductions in the pollution levels. It increases at an increases rate because the pollution level falls at a slower pace initially and later at greater pace.

The first two of the options given in the question doesn’t define the reason of MAC being increasing at an increasing rate.
