Answer #1

A schema means a mental concept. It is also known as cognitive framework which helps in organising various information. It tells a person about expectation. It informs a person what to expect from a variety of experiences and situations.

These schema are based on information. These information come from life experiences. These experiences get stored in our memory and these memories inspire us to expect something at right time. It is also considered as a glue which binds together various information.

Schema also help in building new experiences by making comparisons of different experiences at different times. Social schema can be understood through an example. Suppose there is a child. He asks that what happens in a birthday party.

We will utilise our past experiences in answering his question. We will tell him about cake, songs, gathering of people, music, fun, food and various acts of joy. This answering was based on our cognitive framework. Our past experiences inspire us to expect something which we have already experienced in past.

Same is the case with sporting event. We can think about persons cheering for their players in a loud voice. We can also think about people enjoying soft drinks. We can imagine persons in dress like their favourite team or player.

There will also be cards and papers with various short messages for team and players of choice. We can also easily think about existence of a score board, loud music, police guards for managing the crowd, shops selling sport items, crowd of enthusiastic people, media persons, autographs and various other things.
