Child physical abuse means physical, sexual or neglect of children whether by a parent of by caretaker. In other words child physical abuse is non-accidental injury which harms child's body. Child is physically abused when body of a child is injured physically by shaking, burning throwing, kicking or hitting. Study revealed that 1 of the every 20 child are physically abused in their life time period.
Sexual abuse is any sexual act which child is unable to understand or to which he is not ready to permit. It may include touching private parts, forcing child to watch adult videos, or sexual intercourse etc. Latest reports disclosed that 1 in 4 girls child are sexually harassed and 1 in 8 boys are sexually harassed before entering into age of 18.
Almost 3 million cases related to child abuse are reported each year. Which includes 5.5 million numbers of children which fall under these cases.
Yes, child physical abuse is worse than psychological maltreatment because child physical abuse give physical pain as well as mental harm to a child. It is difficult for a child to wipe off the wound which he or she got physically either by their parents or caretakers. The physical abuse of a child may result into mental trauma. In many cases it is found that a child easily go to depression due to physical abuse of them because they are not able to divert their mind from those situations. Those incidents continuously comes in there mind which make them scared and results into bring them in a trauma. So physical abuse of child is worse than psychological maltreatment.
