why is it that each person interprets ideas very differently how does that happen when reading mission and vision statements
Interpretation by each person of
ideas depends upon the learning the person receives through its
environment and social structure and it builds the attitude of the
person. Now, the person’s approach towards the ideas are divided
into three part of the analysis. The first part is cognitive
component where the person starts thinking on the basis of beliefs,
values and learning on the basis of cultural and social
environment. The second component is emotional component that
analyze the ideas and build a perception about the idea on the
basis of what the person learns on the basis of beliefs and values.
The third component is a behavioral component where the person
takes action and interprets the ideas. Since all these three
components vary differently among the different person, then the
interpretation comes differently.
When people read vision and mission statement, then they start
associating themselves with the organization and its goals
inherited in the statement. The goals are analyzed on the basis of
three components and interpreted differently. A person with good
learning and society of high moral, will get motivated to work more
efficiently to achieve organizational goals. Accordingly, they
improve their work rate and bring a higher engagement level.
Though, some people with disturbing environment and cultural
scenario, will try to find excuses and escape from the
responsibilities that lead to the achievement of organizational
goals.
