Social responsibility in general, refers to the sense of morale that the profit making businesses must have, for social upliftment. It helps in nurturing a positive relationship between the corporate and the society. The basic objective of companies for CSR is:

• To have a positive impact in the society. This encourages the organization as a whole to act ethically.
• Supports the public value outcome
• By being socially responsive, company becomes the employer of choice for many as people want to get associated with companies doing good work for society
• Creates goodwill and good brand image of the company
• Enhances business as clients start favoring the company and want to be associated with such company.

Two ways in which CSR benefits from contributing to team efforts at work are:

• Makes the team members socially responsive which facilitates their behavior and performance at work.
• The employees work in cohesion and harmony during CSR activities like city cleaning, teaching under-privileged kids, etc. This harmony facilitates team synergy, thus promoting overall team performance.

Some service professionals prefer to work alone rather than in-group because they are individual players. They feel their ideas and performance gets restricted when they need to work in association and in sync with others. Usually introverts like to work alone. Mixing with people and working in team, hampers their performance and hence they opt to work alone.
