Answer #1

Market forces can easily determine the speciality that physicians would like to do. There are various parameters in which hospitals offer residency, So interfering in their activity is not the best thing to do.

Hospitals or research institutes take decades to become centres of excellence. There are many hospitals that are specialised in treating particular disease, this is not a disadvantage in anyway, Quality doctors are more important than higher number of them.

Some centres are excellence within United States have become global standard, but still many hospitals lack expertise in treatment of common diseases which puts much of population at risk.
