Should the United States government offer reparations to persons who can demonstrate that they are descended from African slaves? I am NOT asking you if such persons should be paid money. I'm asking you merely about "reparations." It is up to you to decide what that word means.

Answer #1

One of the most important evils that was practiced by the white majority was slavery in which they enslaved people from Africa who lived a relatively peaceful lives in their communities to work in the harsh conditions like animals. They were used to create a white nation while all their contributions and struggles were comfortably forgotten. The actions of the white people are in today’s standard barbaric, inhuman and unchristian. This would mean that the African Americans should be given reparation in terms of allowing them to peacefully live in the country by abolishing institutional racism and allot more budget to make their lives better. Although affirmative actions are in place, it is not enough to repair the damage that was done for few centuries. These actions should continue while at the same time, they should also be given free housing, quality education and free healthcare for another generation along with preferences in jobs if they are qualified. This would level the ground from where people could work towards equality. One cannot bring in equality while centuries long discrimination has already caused huge damage to people.
