Answer #1

Answer a:

Hematocrit % = (RBC count per mm3 ) X (MCV in mm3) X 100

RBC count=6.03 million = 6.03 x 106 per mm3

MCV=68 micrometre3   = 68 x (10-3)3mm3 = 68 x 10-9 mm3

Hematocrit % =( 6.03 x 106) x (68 x 10-9) x 100 =40%

Answer b:

  • Red Cell Count normal range (Female) 4.2 - - 5.4 Thus 6.03 is above range
  • MCV normal range is                           80 - - 100 Thus 68 is below range
  • MCHC normal range is                             30 -- 34 Thus 24 is below range
  • Hematocrit normal range is                   34.9 -- 44.5 Thus 40 is in normal range

Answer C: Hematocrit is in normal range as it depends on both RBC count and plasma Here Their is increase in RBC count but MCV is below range which compensate the increase count.

Answer D: Due to her diet (mainly white rice) she is deficient in Iron content in her body.
