Whenever we say a molecule or transition metal complex is chiral , it means that the molecule is not superimposable on its mirror images.

Chirality can be considered as geometrical property of such molecules. The presence of a chiral or asymmetric carbon centre contributes to the chirality of the molecules at large.

When the carbon center is bonded to four different atoms or groups of atoms , it called as chiral. This causes the molecule or complex to be chiral too.
