Question

When conducting a hypothesis test you may either the critical value method OR the p-value method but you must indicate which method youre using. Do NOT simply write reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis, write a statement about what it means in the context of the problem. 1. Identify the null and alternative hypotheses for the following problems a. The manager of a restaurant believes that it takes a customer less than or equal to 25 minutes to eat lunch. b. Economists have stated that the marginal propensity to consume is at least 90% out of every dollar. Answer #1

1.a. Here claim is that mean is less or equal to 25. As null hypothesis always have equality sign

Hypothesis is o : μ-25 vs H_1:\mu> 25

b. Here claim is that mean is atleast 90$ out of every dollar. As null hypothesis always have equality sign

So hypothesis is H_0:\mu\geq 90 vs H_1:\mu< 90

c. Here claim is that p=0.75

So hypothesis is H_0:p=0.75 vs Hi . P 0.75
