Question

As taught previously, an arbiter for 8 input bits, arbin[7:0] outputs 8 1-hot output bits, arbout[7:0], that indicate the position of a 1 with highest priority. Bits with higher significance i.e arbin[7] has priority over lower order inputs that are 1s. Use only INV, 2-input NAND and 2- input NOR logic gates in your design. The INV has a delay of 2, 2-input NAND has a delay of 3 and the 2-input NOR has a delay of 4. (a) Implement this function using a bit-cell approach (as shown in the notes). Show the design and determine the td and te for the bus, arbout[7:0]. Recall that td corresponds to the longest delay and te corresponds to the shortest delay. (b) Repeat (a) but implement this function with a look-ahead approach (a wide multi-input AND function built as a tree of 2-input NANDs). Show the design and determine the td and te for the bus, arbout[7:0]

This was previously done poorly and incompletely. Thanks in advance!

Perform all the steps shown including the plot, but only for the function shown in part b). Objective: In calculus, integration allows us to find the area under a curve. Numerical methods exist which enable us to approximate the area An interesting approach is to randomly select points in an x-y plane and find the fraction of those points...

Goal You'll design and build a multifunction register. The register needs to meet the following requirements: 1) The register holds a 4-bit number named Q. 2) The register has a 2-bit control input, C, that selects the function that the register will perform on the next rising clock edge 3) The register has a 4-bit data input named B. ) One of the four functions that your register needs to be able to perform is to load B into the...

A protocol is a set of rules that define some operation. For example, the Internet Protocol (IP) specifies how messages are routed throughout the internet. In this problem, you are asked to implement your 1st messaging protocol (MP1). MP1 is a binary protocol that is used to efficiently encode a set of arithmetic operations using a 4-byte data type (e.g., int). The specification of the protocol is as follow. Using a 4-byte (32-bit stream), MP1 messages encode the ‘+’, ‘-‘,...
