Blood flows the slowest in capillaries. The rate of flow of blood varies inversely with the total cross-sectional area of the blood vessel. Blood needs more time to stay in the capillaries to allow exchange of nutrients and gases, therefore capillaries have reduced pressure to allow slower speeds. High pressure in capillaries leads to fissures and aneurysms.
