1) The observational tools for monitoring the attention of children in school include:

  • Running records- It includes the entire details of the behavior of the child in the form of tables for reference. It also includes the reason for the specific behavior of the person in a specific environment.
  • Anecdotal records- It includes the mentioning of the incidents of a specific behavior of the child with reasons for such a behavior.
  • Time sampling: it includes the observation of the time and duration of the occurence of the behavior of a child in a specific environment.
  • Event sampling: in this the observer waits for the development of the situation in which some specific behavior will be observed in the child.
  • Rating scales-The behavior of a child is rated by an experianced observer.
  • checklist: it includes the entire documentation of the traits and behavior of the child in a specific educational environment or some other environment which can trigger a stimulus.
  • Examples: providing environment for drawing mathematical figures, providing toys to children, providing puzzles and games to children and observing their behavior.

2) Creation of the physical environment for the children include:

  • showing illustrative science magazines to the children.
  • providing science quotes to children.
  • showing mnemonic labels for learning languages and maths.
  • showing cartoon caricatures for the enjoyment and entertainment to children.
  • showing scientific models to children to enhance their memory power and knowledge.

3)Children and students can suffer from attention deficit disorder or lack of concentration. The behavior of the student shoule be checked like the communication of a student with his friends, analysis of the bully and fighting behavior in a child, use of rash and vulgar language by a child in class, lack of respect for teacher, failure in exams with lack of potential to memorize and learn language and studies in class. Weschler scaling IQ test is conducted on the students to check the intelligence of students. There attention may not develop with lack of ability to learn words and languages. This may show lack of interest in studies with lack of coordination, nervousness and lack of confidence.
