Why do you think vinyl records are appealing to customers?
Vinyl appeals to customers firstly due to its attached
sentimental values. The newer experience is what carrier over with
every purchase they make, since most music is downloaded through a
service, it does not have the same experience for the customers as
opening a wrapper, having an actual product in the sleeve, and
therefore a sentimental bond is formed with the product. It appeals
to the collectors, since the ease of access to music makes every
new download the same, while a vinyl represents the golden age of
music, every vinyl record becomes a collectible of sorts and has a
far more aesthetic appeal to the customers when compared with other
forms of media like CDs or online download. Thirdly, we can say
that the pristine audio quality is something we miss in today’s
digital age due to file size restrictions, digital format
conversion, compression etc, which appeals to some
customers.
