What is the Anthropocene?
Anthropocene is the current geological age, viewed as the period during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment.
It is the idea that the Earth is entering the new epoch in its geological history, in which human beings have for the first time become the primary agents of change on a planetary scale.
It is the combination of anthropo-from anthropos meaning "human" and -cene from kainos meaning "new" or "recent".
