1, Take 1 ml 1 M NaCl solution, add 9 ml water. Then take 10 μ1 of the diluted solution, add 40 ul water. Finally the solution is 2:1 diluted. Whats the final concentration of NaCI?

Answer:

Substituting the values in standard formula M1V1=M2 V2

To 1ml of 1M Nacl 9ml of water when added, the concentration of Nacl remains 1M.

From this, when we take 10ul and make upto 50ul, the concentration of Nacl becomes 200mM .

Formula,

Substituting the values in standard formula M1V1=M2 V2

1M (1000mM) * 10ul= x * 50ul

x=1000mM * 10ul/5ul

x= 200mM
