1) Sketch

The Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) is the temperature range where a thermosetting
polymer change from a hard, rigid or “glassy” state to a more pliable, compliant or
“rubbery” state. In general, the increase in Tg is caused by the formation of effective
cross-links in the formation of polymer, so Tg increases when extent of thermoset
increases too. The thougnness impact also increase with de increase of the extent of
thermoset, but it reaches a maximum level.

between 3.5 and 7.5 million AMU (atomic mass unity). The longer chain serves to transfer load more effectively to the
polymer backbone by strengthening intermolecular interactions. This results in a very tough
material, with the highestimpact strength of any thermoplastic presently made.a way to prepare them is to melt the material at a high temperature, so that liquid state is possible to mold it.

UHMWPE is used as it can stand up to the heat required to soften the material and is used as
a form/chamber filler for the variouss hape profiles in order for those materials to be bent or
shaped around a template.

4) The gel point is a measure of the degree of monomer conversion at which the polymer
become solid and no longer flows. This is a result of crosslinking, not lowering the temperature
as with Tg.
