Would it be more of an advantage for memory to serve as a faithful record that never changed or as a record that could be updated and filled in by later experience, even if later interpretations were sometimes mistaken? What is the difference between amnesia and normal forgetting?

Amnesia: a total or partial loss of memory is know as Amnesia

Amnesia means you to forget completely and you paritally don't really even know what you are missing anything, what you did a certain day? until someone asks you like this or etc. you realize there is nothing there to remember or you try to think about it on your own.

Forgetting means : Unable to recall: or Fail to remember.

Be similar at first Normal forgetting can, but sometimes there is a clearly of feeling that there is actually something there that you've forgotten.
