Answer #1

I chose A NON PROFIT ORGANISATION WORKING FOR ORPHAN AND BLIND CHILDREN for this assignment and observed the people in that NPO, talked with them and attempted to realise, comprehend them, the way they are. The observations in terms of AEIOU framework are illustrated below-

1. ACTIVITIES- Forming the core board of directors, distributing the responsibilities, analysing the challenges being faced, raising funds, designing website, organising drives, creation of an image, washing out/ erasing bad image because of a bad word of mouth are some of the activities, the non profit organisation performs.

2. ENVIRONMENT- Various exhibitions, workshops, fund raising events, collaboration with the other non profit organisations, connection with the media, public relations, success stories are the aspects/ constituents of the overall environment of the Non Profit Organisation. The laws, changes in administration due to change in the government and its impact on NPOs also adds to the environment.

3. INTERACTIONS- The best sort of interactions occur with the donors who donate as a whole or sponsor the bread and butter, uniform, medical expenses of a child throughout the year or celebrate the birthday of their child with the children who are orphan and blind.

The industry support through Corporate Social Responsibility and the virtual assistance in the context of mentoring children also reflects interactions. Some of the doctors from the city are contacted and requested to devote one day per month by not charging even a single penny.

4. OBJECTS- Books, newspapers, magazines, journals, informative DVDs, software, internet, social media, musical instruments, sports facilities/ equipment are the objects being used. The involvement and affinity regarding the online sources is very high as compared to the direct human touch.

5. USERS- The users/ beneficiaries are the orphan and blind children themselves. They have taken fine education and are standing on their own feet. They cultivated themselves not on the basis of pity but human dignity. Even when they are independent now, they try to contribute to the NPO and realise the efforts taken by NPO for them without which they would have been nowhere and would have lead a miserable life.
