Can someone please explain the bond order, and the pi, pi* and sigma, sigma* stuff to me. I'm really not understanding it at all.
bond order = [no of bonding electrons - no of anti-bonding electrons]/2
pi, sigma = bonding orbitals
pi* , sigma* = anti-bonding orbitals
Example: Bond order in Be2
Be2 = total no of electrons = 8
configuration = sigma1s2 sigma*1s2 sigma2s2 sigma*2s2
Hence,
bond order = [no of bonding electrons - no of anti-bonding electrons]/2
= [ 4-4]/2
= 0

1)Please explain backbonding with LFT (Use MO diagram) and explain pi donor sigma donor pi acceptor by MO diagram 2) Are sigma donors included in all ligands? => strength of ligands :pi donor(with sigma donor) < sigma donor < pi acceptor(with sigma donoor)
If a single bond is a sigma bond, and a double bond is a pi bond, why is it easier to break a single bond than a double bond while a pi bond is weaker than a sigma bond?
Please explain the answer
CN d. The molecule at the right has sigma bonds and pi bonds 14 sigma and 3 pi 6 sigma and 1 pi 9 sigma and 1 pi 12 sigma and 2 pi
Can anyone please explain how mixing orbitals between s and p (sigma and pi) occur with diagram? Thank you so much
Hi, I'm looking for a really elaborate answer, can someone help
me out?
Explain and reflect on different cost allocation methods. Please include reflection on why there are different methods, and to what they each contribute.
