Our current levels of fossil fuel usage is not sustainable although there is a lot of attention being given to the renewable energy shift but the current shift is not as high as it needs to be to make the usage sustainable because even today approximately 80% of the worlds energy is derived from fossil fuels which are unsustainable. If the current rate of usage of fossil fuels continue then it is estimated that by within 50-200 years we would end up with all of the available fossil fuel .According to the Renewable energy global status report our dependence on renewable energy sources was 22% in 2013 but this shift is heading forward with 25% in 2017 and this shows a positive sign.
Certainly, renewable energy is a major part of the solution but judious usage of energy is also important and to devise technology in order to minimise the heavy usage of energy is important such as going paperless which has helped in reducing CO2 emission. Our lifestyles have also greatly contributed to consumption of more energy and this change will only lead to an increase in carbon emissions.Hence, getting oneself adapted to environmentally friendly ways such as car pooling and implementating the concept of green building to make house more energy efficient.
Do you belive our current level of fossil fuel usage is sustainable? why or why not?...
You will establish whether or not current global fossil fuel combustion CO_2 emissions can offset by planting trees? If all cropland was covered with slow-growing trees, how much fossil fuel CO_2 emissions can you offset? How much with fast-growing trees? What happens when you use fast-growing trees on all arable land? Is this realistic? If this were to be done, what other issues would you need to consider? Some key factoids: The surface of the Earth is 5 times 10^14...
What parts of our bodies do we rely upon when gathering empirical evidence? Would you consider your day to day living experience and observations as part of empirical evidence? Why?
2. Many products that we use in our daily lives are derived from geologic materials from the Earth, otherwise known as natural resources and can be renewable or non-renewable. One of the more prominent of these materials is fossil fuels (oil and coal), a non-renewable resource which provides energy to do work. (5 marks total) Provide your own pie chart of a variety of energy sources that we use globally. You can make a pie chart on Excel or Numbers...
A random sample of 100 households was selected as part of a study on electricity usage, and the number of kilowatt-hours (kWh) was recorded for each household in the sample for the March quarter of 2016. The average usage was found to be 660 kWh and it was found that the standard deviation of the usage was 80 kWh. Construct a 90% confidence interval for the mean usage in the March quarter of 2016 Does the data provide significant evidence,...
At the 10% level, do you have enough evidence for the socom 2. A credit card company determined that their current users charge an average of $2500 per year. The company wondered whether giving frequent flyer miles for every purchase would increase card usage. They gave free miles to a sample of 49 credit card customers and found the sample mean to be $2542 with a standard deviation $147 At a- 1%, do you have enough evidence to conclude that...
Why are the Hubble Constant, the Cosmological Constant, and the density parameter so important to cosmology and to you? Consider expansion rate and age. What would be different about our universe if the Hubble Constant were doubled from its current value? How do these constants factor into the geometry of spacetime? How have these constants changed throughout the lifetime of the universe? Are they still changing? Cite some evidence to support your claims.
15. What technological healthcare change do you think might have the most impact on our healthcare system in the future? Explain how. Directions: Carefully read and respond to each question. Please complete your responses using complete sentences. Your responses will be evaluated on the basis of content accuracy, clarity, correct usage of the English language, and demonstrated evidence of critical analysis.
Explain why the speakers say our system of democracy is failing? Do you agree? What is their solution? Is their solution a good one?
I would like you to reflect upon the reasons WHY sugar is in our lives to begin with, explain your thoughts/feelings about this. Do you foresee any changes in the future? Explain. Take a stance, for or against including sugar and/or forms of sugar in our food. Undecided? Then explain why you feel this way. A fairly solid reason explanation of WHY you feel this way. Make clear your personal feelings/beliefs about the use of sugar. Clarify your position by...
