They actually helped a lot to people who wanted to look for any business in a area which is not familiar to them they can go through the yellow pages and get the desired information.

This was a successful model and many other countries also started creating such database of phone numbers. India has created such type of database which had numbers of all the popular business. This can be accessed by calling a number.
