Answer #1

Crossing over between two sister chromatids during prophase of meiosis 1 to contribute genetic variation. Crossing over is the exchange of genetic material or genes between homologous chromosomes.

In sexual reproduction gamete of male and female are fused and reproduce an offspring. These two different gametes when fused it's the first source of genetic variation in prophase of meiosis 1st. In offspring Each gamete contains a different set of DNA.This produce a very unique combination of the genes in offspring. The combination of different genes on a chromosomes is lead to new traits in offspring. In human 99% of human is equal but differences are showed when different genes combined.

Homologous chromosomes forms pairs during prophase 1 of meiosis 1 and crossing over is occur.Result of Crossing over in new combinations of genes that present on each chromosome.
