ANSWER :  The correct alternative is (d) 8 pink and 8 white.

EXPLANATION-

Suppose,

The true breeding plants that produces Red flowers is represented by - RR.

The true breeding plants that produces white flowers is represented by - rr  

So, Gametes produced by true breeding plant with red flowers - R

Gametes produced by true breeding plant with white flowers - r

Crossing between both of them-

Parents: RR * rr

Gametes: R r

F1 generation: Rr (all pink flowers)

Now, crosssing between pink flower plant (Rr) and True breeding white flower plant (rr) producing 16 offsprings

So,

Parents : Rr * rr

Gametes :   R, r r , r

F2 generation- Rr , Rr , rr , rr

Therefore as the results interpret , 50% of the F2 generation i.e 8 plants of the 16 plants will be Rr ,producing pink flowers and the other 50% obtained i.e the other 8 plants will be rr ,producing white flowers.
