Answer #1

STR or the short Tandem repeat is technique used in molecular biology for the detection of difference in the DNA at certain loci known as short tandem repeats between more than 1 samples . Short tandem repeats are repeated sequence of 5 to 7 nucleotides. The polymerase chain reaction is used to determine the length of the short tandem repeat. STR base DNA profiling system is used that play an important role in forensic medicines for the identification of genes from two or more samples . This is used in the affected genotype. If there is difference or alteration in the short tandem repeat sequence due to mutations which may be alteration in the single nucleotide , chromosomal aberration , the entire gene duplication which result in the addition of a segment of DNA , and mutations in the short tandem repeat segment . For eg:- presence of a different nucleotide in the same repeat sequence. Short tandem repeats are similar in the case of monozygotic twins. CODIS -13 and DNA -17 an example of short tandem repeat in the United States at United Kingdom respectively. The STR segments are polymorphic in nature. The DNA fragment are separated through the gel electrophoresis and capillary electrophoresis.

Hence , option D is the correct answer .
