Answer #1

The incorrect option is E) One form of the trait must be dominant to the other form.

Some traits showing incomplete dominance or codominance can also take part in evolution and may be more beneficial than other trait.

For example- In Africa, person heterozygous for sickle cell anemia are better suited in the environment as it protect them from malaria.

The homozygous recessive genotype for sickle cell anemia can not survive till adult.

The homozygous normal genotype may suffer from malaria.

However, sickle cell anemia show incomplete dominance inheritance pattern.

Which of the following statements does not play a direct role in natural selection? Read all choices before answering the question. a) Artificial selection. b) Individuals within the population, who have the greatest reproductive fitness, are those who produce the greatest number of offspring, who survive to reproduce the subsequent F2 ("grandkids") generation. c) A species will produce more offspring than environmental resources can support. Consequently, not all individuals survive and there is a competition for limited resources. d) Competition...

Part B - How does this research relate to your biology course? The following graph shows the frequency distribution of a heritable trait -- fur color -- in a hypothetical deer mouse population. The x-axis represents variation in fur color from light to dark. The y-axis represents the percentage of individuals in the population with each particular color of fur. 333 There are three ways in which natural selection can alter the frequency distribution of a heritable trait, such as...

need answer to both questions. Using the example of the Galápagos finches that Darwin observed, which of the following best explains the reason why the insect-eating finch has such a long, narrow beak? Variation existed in the finch population. Those that naturally had longer, narrower beaks could reach their food more easily, allowing finches with these features to survive and reproduce more often than those that did not. Every day, finches who needed to eat insects would squeeze their beaks...

How Does Evolutionary Change Occur? "I soon perceived that selection was the keystone of man's success in making useful races of animals and plants. But how selection could be applied to organisms living in a state of nature remained for some time a mystery to me." - Charles Darwin Introduction Fundamentally, evolution is the idea that the form and behaviors of a species are not fixed - that they can change over time. Before Darwin was even born, some scientists...
