Answer #1

Answer 18:
Option - After Meiosis I

Meiosis I begins with one diploid parent cell and ends with two haploid daughter cells.
Meiosis II begins with two haploid parent cells and ends with 4 haploid daughter cells

Answer 19:
Option - Continuous

Replication fork moves in left direction, the parent DNA strand is in 3'-5' direction and the new strand being formed is 5'-3' complementary to it and is continuous. This is the direction in which replication takes place.

On the opposing strand the directions are reversed and Okazaki fragments, discontinuous strand is being made.

Explanation and answer to both please and thank you! You are doing the Meselson and Stahl experiment to test the type of replication you are having in a newly identified species. You start with labeled HH and are only able to analyze generation 4. You find that your DNA is 1/8th HL and 7/8th LL. You conclude that replication is: Dispersive Semi-conservative O Conservative Cannot tell Question 18 3 pts At what point during meiosis of human cells do the...

After one round of the cell cycle is complete you observe a total of four daughter cells. Unit 3 Study Resource Meiosis • Process by which diploid cells create haploid cells NOT part of the cell cycle > only some cells ever undergo meiosis During meiosis I, homologous chromosomes line up to allow them to be separated into two new cells o They can become "tangled" during this phase, which leads to crossing-over (rearranging the alleles) O Result of meiosis I is two non-identical haploid cells Meiosis Il looks very similar to mitosis, in that sister chromatids...
