What is an example of an artifact in sex differences in health?
Artifact in sex differences in health refers to the confusing variables that pose differences in sex in terms of health while the differences are not real. This could be related to the differences in socio-economic status of men and women, physicians treating men and women differently due to their sex etc. one of the most important artifacts in sex differences in health is the fact that many men are diagnosed with heart related issues while most of the women who come for treatment are diagnosed as the advanced level. Thus, women try to hide their illnesses and postpone their treatment which comes to them naturally due to their responsibility of taking care of the children and family. Thus, the difference in the number is not real but due to the delay in getting treatment.
