The fates of heme derived from degraded red blood cells is that, In the humans the red blood cells ( RBC's) gets disintegrate so that the hemoglobin gets broken down in the protein called globin , iron which is used latter and the part heme. Initially the heme part gets converted into biliverdin (i.e, green colour pigment) that gets reduced rapidly to bilirubin (I.e, a orange-yellow colour pigment.
