Answer #1

Type of study : Regression Analysis

Experimental or observational unit : Car's price

Two variables of interest : Option 1 is correct

Explanatory variable : age, response variable : price. Both of these are quantitative.

Null Hypothesis : There is no association between age and price of used Honda Civics. { Option 3 }

Alternative Hypothesis : There is an negative association between age and price of used Honda Civics. {Option 1 }

Using Scatterplot : Option 4 is correct .

There is fairly strong negative association between age and price of the cars.

Note we first draw a scatterplot to observe the association between the two variables and then go for test. In the scatterplot there is negative association between age and price of the cars and hence the alternative hypothesis is stated.

The researchers also measured several other variables including sex and cholesterol level. You will investigate these variables and the relationships between them. 1) For each variable listed above, is it an explanatory variable or a response variable? Is it qualitative or...
