American Jews are the ethnic group that has been formed over a period of time when Jews from different countries, geographical regions and ethnically different Jewish communities from different parts of the world. It makes Jews to be a heterogenous ethnic group. For example, in the USA, the Jews came as migrants from Spain and Portugal. Later on, Jews came from the countries belonging to central Europe and eastern Europe. It happens when Jews community faced different problems and policies against them were drafted by the government. It made these Jews communities to move to the USA. Later on, Jewish communities from other countries also came to the USA and some people from other religion, got converted into Judaism religion to be pursued by Jews. It made American Jews to be a group who is ethnically diversified as it belongs to people from different Geo-cultural-social background.
