It is a planning, developing and implementing maneuvers to obtain a competitive edge in your chosen niche. This process is necessary to outline and simplify a direct map of the company's objective and how to achieve them. The central objective of any company will be customer satisfaction so they may dominate the market and become leaders in their industry and thus providing substantial business satisfaction.

In order to do that, three phases of marketing strategies are there. They are 1) planning phase, 2) implementation phase, 3) Evaluation or control phase

The space matrix is a management tool used to analyze a company. It is used to determine what type of a strategy a company should undertake. The Strategic Position and ACtion Evaluation matrix (in short space matrix) that focuses on strategic formulation especially as related to competitive position of an organization.

It can be used as a basis of other analyses, such as the SWOT analysis, BCG matrix model, industry analysis, or assesing strategic alternatives (IE matrix).

In this method, space matrix is broke down into four quadrants where each quadrant suggest a different type or nature of a strategy. They are aggressive, conservative, defensive and competitive. Also the space matrix is based on four areas of analysis. They are financial strength (FS), competitive advantage (CA) which comes in internal strategic dimensions and environmental stability (ES) , industry strength (IS) which comes under external strategic dimensions.
