To survive the union has to be innovative enough in its working they can use follwing to maintain its servival -
using the social and online platform - using the online websites and the social platform can be a great way to acquaint people about the unions and making members through the online portal can be a next-level step to remain in touch with the employees and increasing the membership.
concentrating on professions - focusing on particuar profession is a great way to increase the strength of the union one can target the profession and make a long term strategy to make people unionized regarding the profession. this can be called professional identity unionism so it targets not just industry tribunals but various forums as well.
community alignment - this can be a great way to be in touch with the employee, targeting the community can be a great way to increase the relevance of the unions as targeting the like-minded community can increase there presence in the public and ensure its survival.

Credit unions get tax advantages and have to allow only members of a defined group to join. Over time this "common bond" has become quite broad.
