2a. Glycogen synthase is inactive when it is phosphorylated. During exercise Glycogen broken down into glucose for energy production , Glycogen synthase is the phosphorylated by glycogen synthase kinase and phosphorylase. Protein phosphatase 1 converts glycogen synthase into the alpha form a via dephosphorylation.A the alpha form is the active form, glycogen resynthesis occurs after exercise .

2b. Oxidative phosphorylation take place in the mitochondrial matrix and inner mitochondrial membrane in the living organisms. Electron from NADH / FADH2 transfer to O2 via different protein complexes of electron transport chain in the inner mitochondrial membrane , electron transport causes proton gradient in the intermembrane space where proton is pumped from the mitochondrial matrix.
