Answer #1

Answer 1) The correct option is third (Differentiated)

T-cells are differentiated cells and originally derived in bone marrow from hematopoietic stem cells and goes to thymus for final differentiation. From thymus gland they come out as mature T-lymphocytes which are immunocompetent.

Option first is incorrect: Pluripotent cells are a category of immature cells (such as stem cells) which have the ability to give rise to many different types of cells. As T-lymphocytes are mature cells and do not give rise to any other kind of cell, this option is incorrect.

Option second is incorrect: Totipotency is a property of a single cell to give rise to whole new organism. T-lymphocytes do not have such potential, hence they are not totipotent.

Option fourth is incorrect: Multipotent is also a kind of cell that can give rise to multiple cells. Hence, this option is also incorrect.

Answer 2) The correct option is first (Inhibition of growth when contacting other cells.)

This statement is not true in regard to cancer cells. After coming in contact with other cells, cancer cell proliferation does not stop. Cancer cell growth continues irrespective of contact with other cells. Hence, this option is correct.

Option second is incorrect: The statement is true. Cancer induction generally involves a mutation related to cell growth where cell cycle arrest capacity is lost.

Option third is incorrect: during cancer, cells reproduce (or divide) in an unrestricted manner due to loss of function related to cell cycle arrest. Hence, this statement is true.

Option fourth is incorrect: Due to loss in ability to cell cycle arrest, cancer cells continue to grow and occupy area reserved for other cell types. Hence, this statement is also true. However, option is wrong.
