Workplace or workforce diversity can be explained as a concept which state people from different background like culture, race,color, age, gender, religion etc are working together in single workplace. It means bring people from different variety to one workplace. Workplace diversity makes workplace more heterogeneous because there are people who come from different background bring something different yet unique in their own way to workplace.

Bell Canada is very famous telecommunication company which take initiative to diversity and support diversity at workplace as well as outside.

Diversity is relevant to bell because diversity bring more innovation and creativity to business. when people are from different background then they have different minds, skills, experience and knowlege to give to the company. Diversity helps bell to improve its image in the eyes of customers, employees, society. Diversity also reduces the chances of legal suits to Bell in relation to discrimination because company believe in talent not thier background.

Diversity is relevant to industry because industry serves customers from different background so theyy need employees who can connect with those customers like American will connect with American customer, indian employee will give insight to indian customers etc.

Bell was one of the company which was recognized as best diversity employer in 2019.Bell has diversity and inclusion initiatives to bring people including-

  • Women
  • Visible minorities
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Mental health
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Generations
  • Language
  • Sexual orientation and gender identity and expression (LGBT)
  • Religion
  • Veterans

Example of bell's initiatives to support diversity oustide organization are sponsoring SABAR (Strategic Alliance of Broadcasters for Aboriginal Reflection) and Inside Out (Toronto’s LGBT Film Festival).
