The order says 1 milligram lorazepam per dose.

Each tablet contains 0.5 milligram lorazepam.

Number of tablets per dose = amount of drug per dose / amount of drug in each tablet = 1/0.5 = 2 tablets. ​​​​​​

Hence 2 tablets ​​​​​​, each containing 0.5 mg lorazepam is to be given each dose per oral.

Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine with anticonvulsant and antianxiety properties. All benzodiazepines act by increasing the frequency of opening of GABA mediated chloride channels.

It can be used in status epilepticus.
