We know the equation for designing Rigig Pavements.

For rigid pavement we know the AASHTO equation for design is

reliability = 95%, so ZR = -1.645, S0 = 0.25, D = 8, delta (PSI) = 4.6 - 2.5 = 2.1

Pt = 2.5, S'c' = 800, J = 3.0, Cd = 1.0, Ec = 5000000, k = 100

So based on this we calculate the W18 to be 5799580 ESALs

So design ESALS = 5799580

this is the number of ESALS that are acting on the road over the entire design period.
