A is sporophyte whereas B is gametophyte.

In the image given, sporophyte is dependent upon gametophyte which is photosynthetically independent.

The sporophyte is diploid and contains a capsule which has spores in it. The gametophyte is haploid and gives rise to gametes.

7. Similarities -

Eukaryotic cell

Presence of cellulosic cell wall

Chloroplast and chlorophyll present and able to undergo photosynthesis

Starch is the reserve food

Both are embryophytes.

Differences -

Land plants are differentiated into roots, stem and leaves whereas algae is undifferentiated.

Vascular tissue is absent in algae but present in some plants.

Algae always show external fertilization but plants show both internal and external fertilization.
