2- Why does each response elicit acceptance from one and skepticism from another?

3- Why has it been a challenge for some places to grasp social distancing?

1. Though global pandemic is an old concept but it is comparitively very new to the today's population. It has been almost been a decade since something like this happened. But we have come accross a long way from there in terms of technology and advancement in healthcare field. So, it is not quite acceptable to the population that something like this is possible in today's time. Secondly the world was not at all ready for something like this and that is why we are getting such a varied response to a global pandemic.

2. People in the world carry different perception about different thing and it is very less likely that the whole population would execute an identical response on a world event. As I earlier mentioned that we have come across a long distance in terms of better medical treatment and healthcare facilities accross the world. So, a portion of world population thinks that we can easily fight and prevent this pandemic while the other portion thinks that this is something that we can not run away from and it will stay with us for a long time. The acceptance and skeptic response are also due to different demography and lifestyle. For example the perception of developing nation would be more about hiding and saving themselves from the pandemic whle the perception of the developed nation would be more about looking for a vaccine as early as possible so that the things can go right again.

3. There is very simple reason behind this challenge. It is because of the different culture, religion, norms, values, demography and economic status of the population. For instance, India is one of the most densely populated country in the world. They have such an ancient, big and vibrant culture of being together in a big family. Additionally, they live pretty close to each other and have big list of festivals around the calender. Due to relatively smaller per capita income, they can not afford to stay at home for long and have to go for work. These things as a whole contributes as a challenge to the concept of social distancing.
