Investigate the effects of introducing flexible working methods on employee satisfaction and performance of the Namibia Training Authority (NTA), training department.

The Objectives of the Study.

1) To identify the relationship between Flexible Working Arrangements and Employees’ Satisfaction at Namibia Training Authority, Training Department.

2) To analyse the impact of Flexible Working Arrangements and Employees’ Work performance at Namibia Training Authority, Training Department.

3) To work out factors which may influence Flexible Working Arrangement at NTA Training Department.

4) To identify work practices of flexible work arrangement at NTA Training Department.

Designing of research questionnaire

The research questionnaire should consist of open ended questions to identify flexible work arrangement impact on employees’ satisfaction. Flexible work arrangement impact on work performance of employee should be assessed by questionnaire. The questionnaire should consider probing those factors responsible to influence flexible working arrangement. The questionnaire should also include work practices related to flexible work arrangement at NTA training department. Therefore, it is suggested that these questions should be included in the questionnaire.

· Do current work practices allow flexibility to manage work life balance? Does current work arrangement balance schedule of work and life?

· Are there factors such as high turnover, absenteeism, and overload of work cause dissatisfaction among employees and reduce work life balance?

· Do you think work life balance requires changes in supervisory approach such as better relationship between supervisor and employees?

· Are you commuting a long distance to reach work location? How do you think such long distance impacts work life balance?

· Do you think remote working facility is a very good option to create work life balance?

· How remote working pose opportunities and challenges for an employee?

· Do employees need flexible time to choose work hours and if such flexible time provided, whether job satisfaction of employees will be improved?

· Do employees need job sharing opportunities for work life balance to enhance work satisfaction?

· Do employees need reduced hours of working and how reduced hours of working contribute to job satisfaction?

· Do you think manager compassion and care enhances job satisfaction

These questions added in questionnaire can improve the effectiveness of questionnaire. The questionnaire thus should include open ended questions and questions should be asked in a quasi- structured way. Open ended questions allow probing perceptions of employees about flexible work arrangement impact on job satisfaction. Quasi-structured questionnaire is found feasible for social studies. While designing the questionnaire, repetitive questions, technical jargon and lengthy sentences must not be used to make the questionnaire effective. To enhance sufficient response, these considerations must be taken into account. These considerations before designing the questionnaire to measure impact of flexible work arrangements on job satisfaction of employees are beneficial for obtaining the objectives of this study.
