The hemoglobin has a tendency to bind to oxygen and CO2 and hence in high oxygen concentration, it binds to oxygen by releasing the CO2 and at high CO2 concentration it binds to CO2 releasing oxygen. In this way the CO2 is released into the alveoli by the oxygen concentration and also the carbon dioxide diffuses along the concentration gradient. Hence the correct answer is: two of the choices are correct.
