Illness is not a social deviance. Social deviance can be two types – primary deviance and secondary deviance. In the primary deviance it appears that the individuals do not follow the social norms and legal issues. They violatet the law and they are engaged in Anti social activities Such deviance results punishment and the individual is punished according to the law for stop in the secondary deviance we find that there may be some social norms that the individual finds inappropriate and he does not follow the norms but he does not make any harm to others. Such deviance does not cause any type of punishment.

illness can be physical and mental. Mental illness sometimes lead one to be defined socially and in such case the punishment is not so hard and there the individuals are provided social support show that he follows the social norms. The physical illness may occur any time and there is no relationship between illness and deviance.

Social norms help the society to have balance in the society and the social norms and legal issues also ensure the social security of the individuals.social norms control the society and present the individuals from doing any kind of deviance and therefore such norms are followed by the individuals. Social norms are related to the social defence and the primary deviance should be appointed to maintain the social security.
